Konaje Kallu Hiking with Kids

It was Yugadi New Year i.e., 22nd March 2023 [Wednesday] and children mandated me to take them on morning sunrise hike somewhere around Muniyalu. Daughter took 4 days permission to work from home, hence I must plan somewhere.

Asked them, are you ready to hike 3 kms in dense forest? My son & daughter both were eager to say 'Yes'. Finalized to hike once again Konaje Kallu, near Moodbidri. In fact on calendar new year i.e., 1st January 2023, hiked with Muniyal Friends. Due to academic urgent work, madam did not join with us.

On 22nd March 2023, early morning boarded in car, continued our non-stop journey towards Konaje. This place is around 40 kms away from our home. Crossed the Karkala, before Moodbidri took left deviation, after 5-6 kms, reached Konaje.

Since, I am aware about the trail and formalities, parked car in the base, started our energetic journey. Sun was already arose, missed the witness from top. However, we had wonderful at Yennehole while coming.

The pace slowly takes up through jungle, reached the first stage where we can see the valley. At far can identify couple of villages & town.

Continued our journey towards Siddarshrama. This ashrama is one of the holy place where many saints do the meditation. The ashrama is latterly in cave and very holy place.

Took darshana and explored the around place. We have to enter our details before heading towards Konajekallu peak. Completed our formalities and headed towards peak.

Surprisingly, only three of us none other entire hike. Passing through the dense forest, reached rock. This is place where the ashrama is below rock. Spent some good photography time and continued our journey.

The trail is become dense forest. Its gradual ascend in the deep forest. You can hear whisper of different birds. Suddenly my son shouted "Appa vishada haavu", indeed it was venomous snake.

Crossing it, soon reached on the peak. Before peak, we have to climb the big rock which could be little tough to other. We easily managed and reached the peak.

It was cool breeze and relax weather. On the peak, you will find Eshwar Linga, Theertha Baavi and big rocks. You should be very careful while exploring this place. Please do not make any nonsense things which may lead loosing life.
