Morning Hike to Kavaledurga

We Muniyalu friends decided to hike Kavaledurga one fine morning on 26th February 2023. Plan is to start from Muniyalu on two wheeler, hike and back to home by 10 am. Initially 4 person team was set, at last moment one person dropped out.

Temple on the Top

Started our journey sharp 5.30 am as per defined schedule on Hero Honda Passion & Scooty. The morning was very chilled weather. Passing through Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary reached Agumbe Ghat.

Morning as usual downwards traffic will be more, soon we reached the sunset point. Our friend Rajesh had surprise for us, brought homemade Tea in Flask. The sun yet to arise, had wonderful tea.

Continued our journey passing through Agumbe village and took deviation at Kaimara towards Kavaledurga.

Reached the Kavaledurga at 7.30 am, distance was around 66 kms. Except bird whispering, the valley was calm silent. Parked our vehicle and started our trek. Two dogs also followed with us.

Its always energetic morning walk. This was my 7 or 8 visit to this wonderful Shivappa Nayaka fort.

Mahadwara

Taking small breaks, chit chatting, photography reached the first peak. Visited the temple, spent good time on exploration.

Continued our hike towards the top where we can see the Varahi backwater and beautiful valley. I recalled our Kavaledurga hike during Malli home Yakshagana play watching near Kuppali.

Only we three were on entire hike and top. Spent enough of time and had snacks which brought from home.

Now its time to move down and start back journey. Descending did not take much time and without break, reached the parking lot.

Overall the hike was wonderful and enjoyed a lot. Thanks to two dogs which gave company entire trek.
