Family Visit - St. Mary's Island, Malpe - Udupi

Two years passed!!! relocated the family to Muniyal, Udupi district. I have explored a lot in this region, however St. Mary’s Island took two years. Indeed, many times scheduled, but the time came on 25^th February 2018. My son was more eager to enjoy the ride.

A dedicated Boats service is made for tourist. Hope, only the authorized authorities take the tourist to this Island. During the peak monsoon service is not available. The boat service centre is on the left side of the Malpe beach. Any local people can guide the location.

There is a ticket counter; fixed per head Rs.250/-. This includes to-from fare. There are multiple boats which ply between Island and Malpe. According to your convenient time and interest, can be returned by any boat. In general, they mention 1.30 hours to turn back.

We boarded the boat after the formalities. Crowd in the boat was not much. The distance between Malpe – St. Mary’s island is approximate 6 – 7 KMs which takes around 30 minutes. The boat is fully equipped with Life Jackets, chairs & Music DJ. We can enjoy a lot during journey.

The journey is begun, music on play. Slowly people started to come in dance mood. Within a short time, there were many groups formed. 

The entire floor filled with dancers; enjoyed the crowd.

Reached the Island. The blue sea water is so beautiful. Welcome arch invite the tourist.

At the entrance, authorities check our baggage. They will not allow us to take any eatable and plastic items. One way it is really good, but they are making good money by selling the products inside. 

It is maintained very clean. Good place to relax with family and friends. 

Nice to dip into water. My son did not like to miss the opportunity, enjoyed the blue water.

After spending good amount of time, decided to turn back. 

Now the crowd is little more. Boarded the boat. Again the music begun. People are enjoyed a lot.

Soon we reached back to Malpe and adieu to the place. Very descent place to spend with family and friends.
